Bogner XTC 104 Boost Function

Hi - I have a PBC6x and recently picked up a Bogner XTC 104bv which is MIDI enabled for channel switching, FX loop and Boost. Is there a way to set up a button on the PBC6x to turn the boost on and off within a preset? I'm assuming I would need to set up an IA button on another page? Thank you!

Can you provide us with the list of MIDI CCs that it requires to select the channel and turn the loop and boost on and off?

Unfortunately I cannot as it’s the simple save-send method. The same as the Marshall JVM.
Are you sure about that? I designed a MIDI circuit for Reinhold a couple of years ago, and I think it was supposed to go into that amp.

If I recall correctly, CC80 should select channel 1, CC81 channel 2, CC83 channel 3. The first non-channel switch would start at CC84 or CC88. Which CC does what would depend on how he wired the processor to the amp's circuit, but I recommend trying CCs in the range of 84 through 95 and see if any do anything.

I’m 100% sure. It’s how I programmed the amp and the PBC6X. This amp has 4 channels. He hasn’t put out a manual for the amp so there’s no CC/PC list to refer to.

I’ll give it a shot! Thank you!

So, I've tried a number of things to no avail. Below is process I've been trying to use. Additionally, someone shared online the CC list. #86 and anything from 84-90 doesn't work.

Step 1: Configure the Hold Function in the Mastermind Editor
  1. Connect your RJM PBC6X to your computer via USB and launch the Mastermind Editor. [1]
  2. Click on the Buttons tab. [1, 2]
  3. Double-click the physical button you want to configure to open the Button Edit Page. [1, 2]
  4. Look for the Button Mode dropdown menu (near the top) and change it from Normal to Hold.
    • This will split your menu screen into two independent configuration columns: "Button Settings" (for the quick tap) and "Hold Functions" (for the long press). [1]
Step 2: Assign the MIDI CC Toggle to the Hold Column
Navigate down to the newly active Hold Functions section on the right side of the screen: [1]
  1. Set the Button Type inside the Hold section to IA (Instant Access). [1]
  2. Set a Hold Name (e.g., "XTC Boost").
  3. Ensure Send on Preset Change and Update on Preset Change are checked if you want the button's visual LED state to track automatically when changing scenes. [1]
  4. Move down to the Actions block at the bottom of the window. [1]
  5. Click New Action and define the command parameters exactly like this:
    • Action Type: MIDI CC / CC Toggle
    • Device: Select your Bogner 104 device profile
    • CC Number: Choose an open number, such as 10
    • Off Value: 0
    • On Value: 127 [1, 2, 3]
  6. Click OK to close out the button layout, then click Transfer -> Write Device Settings to sync the changes to your hardware PBC6X floor unit. [1]
Step 3: Teach the Bogner 104 to Recognize the Command
Now that the RJM controller is transmitting the correct information, you need to sync the amplifier's onboard "brain": [1]
  1. Connect the standard 5-pin MIDI cable from the RJM MIDI OUT to the Bogner MIDI IN.
  2. Power on the amp head.
  3. On the front panel of the Bogner Ecstasy 104, turn the Boost relay switch ON manually.
  4. On your RJM PBC6X, press and hold your newly assigned button until it registers the Hold function and the assigned LED color lights up (indicating the "ON" state of 127).
  5. Walk over to your Bogner head. Press and hold the Store/Learn button until its LED flashes rapidly.[1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Replied to your ticket with a file to try, let me know how it goes, via the ticket, thanks!
