Hi Mario,
I cannot seem to find any reference to "Get Preset Names" in the PBC6X Manual-4.3.pdf. Is this the latest?
Their are some Axe-Fx references but very scetchy.
My important settings in all three devices currently are:
RJM PBC/6X
- Devices Tab
MIDI Channel: 1 (in device tab slot 1)
MIDI Port: MIDI Out
PC Offset: 0
Max PC: 127
Bank Type: MSB
Flat Numbering: On
# of Presets: 512
Send PCS: On
Ignore Incoming PC: On
Send redundant PCs: Off
Ignore Incoming CC: Off
Send CCs on preset change: Off
Direct Send CCs/PCs: ON
Poll State: ON
Sync Names: ON
- Global Tab - main/ important Settings
Max Button Page: 3
Show Scene Names: On
Show Preset Number: On
Sysex # 5
- MIDI Tab - main/ important setting
MIDi Rx Ch: NONE
MIDI Bidir: On
- RJM Smart Multibox
As you confirmed I should use Python Script mode. But not sure if your recent script you provided is the culprit
Sysex # 5
- Fractal Audio Systems Axe-Fx III
Setup Menu> MIDI/ Remote
MIDI Channel: 1
Send Realtime Sysex: On
Program Change: On
As the "Get Preset Names" procedure progress bar does complete it appears that the Axe-Fx III is in some sort of read-only state and is not allowing the Names, Scenes & Effects to come across to the PBC/6X? It is Firmware 32P6... the latest.
Also could it in fact have something to do with the PBC/6X? Would I have a better chance of completing the "Get Preset Names" from my Axe-FX III if I was to use the PBC/10X and bypass the Smart Multibox altogether?
Attached is my vanilla RJM file called AxeFxIII-2.rjs.
Foot Note:
I know some are dated, but I have also been scouring through these reference videos from Ron but can't seem to solve this issue:

"You should not set MIDI Receive Channel to be the same channel as one of your other MIDI devices. This includes devices with bidirectional MIDI communication such as the Axe-Fx and Kemper Profiler. When using these devices, you don't need MIDI Receive Channel to be set to anything other than None."
