Hi team, I finally took the plunge and bought a gizmo rack unit. I wanted to shift my obsessive compulsive pedalboard into a rack draw type setup. I was very much inspired by John Petrucci's set up.
The item came this week. I started with just connecting only the guitar to gizmo, through gismo to amplifier. I'll note that I'm based in Australia and the power supply that was provided does not fit our plug configuration nor is it at the correct voltage. My work around was to use my Cioks power supply at the required level.
Upon connecting I noticed immediately a loud consistent digital clicking noise in the signal. Kind of like a midi clock click.
I checked the power cable and the cables I had connected from the guitar, to the device, to my amplifier and... all were okay. I bypassed the device and had no issues. I then reconnected to the device and the digital clicking was still present.
The only fix I've figured out is connecting an Isolation Transformer between this and the head. Understandably that's not recommended but no more clicking for the time being until I find the correct solution.
Has anyone he had the same situation and been able to rectify it? if so I'm keen on your direction as my attempts have not been successful. I am loathing to think that I need to return this item immediately back to the US for repair.
Here is that I found online....Digital clicking in a MIDI‑controlled loop switcher (like your RJM Gizmo) is almost always caused by power instability, or digital clock bleed entering the audio path. It is not normal, and it is a sign that something in the rig is electrically wrong.
Maybe an issue caused during transport??
Please help
