X88-IR: Preset vs Channel Switching

I've run into a bit of an issue using the MM LT with the Soldano X88-IR. When I change channels from a dedicated button page, the channels on the X88 switch just fine. However, when I go from one preset to another, sometimes it will update with the preset, but most of the time it won't. I've gotten the same result with 2 different midi cables now and I'm attaching a screenshot of one of the button configs in case someone notices a glaring mistake.

Try the attached file. The issue was that your presets were configured to send MIDI PC messages to the Soldano. But at the same time, your three buttons are configured (in a Group) to also send a MIDI PC, selecting a channel. That was causing a conflict. Let me know if there are any other issues.

Hey Mario,

Looks like that did not change the behavior. I'll dig into the Soldano options to see if I can achieve channel switching with CC instead of PC, but I'll continue to watch here if you or any others have additional tips/suggestions.

Can you let me know, (1) do the three buttons work properly selecting the channels when you press them, or (2) do those not even work, along with channels changing when you select a preset on the Mastermind?
 
1. The dedicated three buttons work properly at all times, selecting channel 1, 2, or 3.

It’s only the Mastermind LT preset changes that don’t work properly.

Now I’m starting to wonder if the MEG X config is coming into the equation…though I know I don’t have the X88 configured in it at all.
 
Please try my three presets, named SOL1, SOL2, and SOL3 in the attached file.

I don't currently have access to an LT, but if you have a USB MIDI interface, you could use a MIDI Monitor application to view the MIDI data being sent by the LT, to make sure it's not the issue.
 
Hey Mario,

I realized I could use the midi interface of my Scarlett to capture the data. When doing a test, I captured 1 success, then a failure. The failure is missing the program message.

….and I’m realizing now I should’ve just gone MM LT directly to the Scarlett for this test, bringing in the additional one at a time. ‍
 
Actually this test was good! I was wondering if it might be something in the MIDI signal path that isn't allowing messages to reach the X88IR for some reason. At this point I would say try connecting the LT directly to the X88IR to see what happens.
